Help deliver supplies with the Selous Safari Company

When you’re thinking of giving to charity, you’d normally expect to give your time or money. Well how about giving your luggage space? The Selous Safari Company has teamed up with Pack For A Purpose to allow African travellers a chance to make a difference.

Just by pledging 2.5kg of your hold luggage, you can help a school project or a health clinic, by carrying supplies such as deflated footballs or a box of 400 pencils.

This new project has been taken up by The Selous Safari Company in Tanzania, which has already managed to deliver 30kg worth of supplies in a year, but this can easily be improved upon.

Travellers can get involved by simply visiting the Pack for a Purpose website, selecting their destination, the project they want to help and the amount of space they can spare.

Rebecca Rothney, chair of Pack For A Purpose, said: “It’s startling to see just how little some schools and clinics have to work with. We can all find a little space in our luggage for a bag of supplies. If enough people make small contributions, we have the potential to make an enormous impact.”
