Raleigh on the hunt for trek leaders

Friday, 5 November 2010 4:00 PM

Are you aged over 25, with a passion for travelling and a desire to gain leadership skills? Then Raleigh could have to perfect opportunity for you to take the lead on a worldwide trip.

The youth and education charity is on the lookout for Trek Leaders who will not only have the chance of boosting their CV with project management skills, but will also have the opportunity to trek in some barely touched areas of the world.

You will be leading a small group of 17-24 year olds on treks in exotic locations, such as Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Borneo and India. The ideal Trek Leader will have mountain leader training or equivalent in order to take the groups of volunteers on these exciting treks.

Each trek is physically and mentally challenging, involves camping along the way in tents, shelters or hammocks and is a fantastic opportunity for activity lovers.

Bursary awards of up to £1,450 are available for Trek Leaders who have been Mountain Leader assessed, which means a 13-week expedition would cost just £500. For those who have been Mountain Leader trained or equivalent an expedition would cost £750.
