Snowtubing and ziplining over Christmas at Hunter Mountain
If you’re spending your first Christmas away from home during your ski season, then why not mark the occasion with some alternative snow sports at Hunter Mountain resort in upstate New York.
The Catskill ski resort has recently had four feet of snow, which, helped by 50 new snowmaking cannons, means that every piste should be open during the Christmas period.
Beyond skiing and snowboarding, guests can try snowtubing, which involves sliding down the mountainside on a rubber inner tube, or ziplining from the treetops, for the ultimate view over the resort.
Hunter’s zipline and canopy tour is the longest and highest in North America and will be opening this weekend (December 18), so there will be one more winter thrill on offer to visitors.
Brian Czarnecki, Director of Marketing & Sales at Hunter Mountain, said: “We’ve got a great holiday week coming up and a huge New Year’s party. There’s a lot to celebrate this season.”
