Sustainable tiger-spotting tours in India

Friday, 15 October 2010 2:25 PM

Explore, the specialist adventure tour operator, have won the Association of Independent Tour Operators 2010 award for Most Sustainable Tour for its Tiger trip to India.

The tour was commended in particular for its focus on environmental, conservation and social issues, as it utilises local guides and supports the Asharan Orphanage in Delhi, inviting customers to bring out donations of children’s clothes, books and toys.

The seven-day break combines sightseeing in Old and New Delhi and a ride on a rickshaw train with three days on tiger-spotting safari in Ranthambore National Park. The next tour departs on October 24, at a price of £990, including flights, transfers and two free meals per day.

Explore is the UK’s largest adventure travel company and has been running for just under 30 years. Their commitment to environmentalism is reflected in their policy of carbon-offsetting all the flights made by customers and staff.
