New season improvements at Fernie Alpine Resort

Wednesday, 6 October 2010 2:44 PM

The Candian resort in British Columbia has made a range of improvements to its slopes for the upcoming snow season in Canada’s Rocky Mountains.

Alpine bowls, gladed pistes and traverses are all there to be explored, and skiers will benefit from smoother slopes this season, as Fernie has added two new CAT piste-groomers to its fleet.

The Sky Dive traverse has been improved for easier access, while Boomerang Ridge has also been renovated. Tree glading between Cruiser and Cedar Center has also opened up some new intermediate glades.

After the filming of Hot Tub Time Machine at Fernie Alpine Resort in spring 2009, the resort has decided to lay on a special Hot Tub package, complete with a DVD copy of the movie.

Fernie benefits from 29 foot of snowfall each year and can be easily reached from Vancouver. To find out more about this and the four other resorts in the RCR group, visit www.skircr.com
