Virgin Atlantic reveals weirdest in-flight requests

Tuesday, 1 February 2011 9:25 AM

It seems people say some pretty weird things at 35,000 feet above sea level, as Virgin Atlantic’s latest poll reveals some bizarre requests from their passengers, the most frequent of which being “please can you open the window?”

Another popular request was for passengers to be shown where the showers are, the poll of 3,000 Virgin Atlantic cabin crew found.

Other confused passengers were quoted as asking if their children could be taken to the playroom, while one flyer even asked an air hostess if she could turn down the engines as they were too noisy.

Moaning about an in-flight meal is not a particularly unusual occurrence, but staff were taken aback when asked if there was a MacDonald’s onboard instead.

Virgin Atlantic flies to 30 destinations worldwide, but just for the record, none of their fleet of planes contain showers, children’s playrooms or fast-food restaurants.
