Lisbon hostels ranked best in the world

Lisbon’s hostels have been ranked as the best in the world according to hostel booking website hostelworld.com at the Hoscar Awards.

The Hoscar Awards are the biggest event in the budget travel calendar and are attended by 400 hostel owners, managers and staff from around the world. They aim to honour the top hostels in the world voted for on hostelworld.com.

Lisbon hostels came out on top in all three of the main categories. The Best Small Hostel category was won by Lisbon Lounge Hostel, The Best Medium Hotel winner was Travellers House, and Yes! Lisbon Hostel was ranked as the Best Large Hostel.

Lisbon’s Travellers House also won in a number of other categories including Most Fun Hostel, Best Character, Best Location and Best Staff, while Lisboa Central Hostel was voted Most Secure Hostel.

In total, Lisbon hostels won 11 awards cementing its place as a top destination for the gap year and budget traveller.
