Berlin 'one of the most popular cities on Facebook'

For a budget gap year, Europe is an ideal destination. Have you considered Berlin? With well over 800,000 fans, Berlin is one of the most popular cities on Facebook - and the Mayor is planning to harness that support to find even more fans.

Berlin's Governing Mayor Klaus Wowereit has launched the "Make it a Million" campaign, calling on fans of Berlin from all over the world to upload to Facebook a 30-minute clip proclaiming their love for the city.

Each video will be judged and the winner will get a trip to Berlin to meet DJ, musician and producer Paul van Dyk, walk the red carpet at the Berlinale, take a peek behind the scenes at Babelsberg Studio, accompany designer Michael Michalsky to his StyleNite or watch a Hertha match from the VIP lounge.

"Berlin has many facets; Berlin has many fans," said Berlin's Governing Mayor Klaus Wowereit. "We want to thank our city's fans by giving them a very special Berlin experience."

Wowereit recorded the very first fan clip and uploaded it to Facebook in the red Berlin-Boxx, which will be on tour in Berlin, Cologne, Munich and Frankfurt.
